the ir remote keypad uses two aa size, 1.5v batteries (preferably alkaline). to install new batteries, 1) open the battery compartment at the back side of the keypad by placing your thumb in the oval depression and sliding the cover out about ?inch. see figure 4.1.

    remove the old batteries and properly discard. wait a minute or two, and 2) place the new batteries in the compartment, orienting the positive/negative of each battery according to the labels in the compartment. when the batteries are in place, replace the cover by placing the cover inch from its closed position and slide it into place. do not force the cover.

   

    always wait a minute or two when replacing batteries so that the internal electronics discharge and can recognize the change.
