selecting protect from the playback menu displays the menu shown at right, where you can select pictures to protect from accidental deletion. protected files can not be deleted in review, singleimage playback, or from the delete sub-menu. note, however, that protected pictures will be deleted when the memory card is formatted.

    no more than fifty pictures can be selected at one time. at the fifty-first picture, the message "image cannot be saved" will be briefly displayed and you will be returned to the thumbnail menu. press quickto protect the fifty pictures currently selected and exit the protect menu. to protect additional pictures, select protect from the playback menu.
