Sync Rec Tab

    offset time

    since dv cameras and decks are mechanical devices, there can be a lag between when the record command is sent and recording actually starts. similarly, there can be a lag between when the stop command is sent and the recording actually stops.

    the settings will vary from device to device, even in the same make and model.

    start point

    defines how many frames after the recording command is sent that the file playback will start.

    you will need to adjust this for the delay between when the record command is received by the deck and recording actually begins.

    end point

    defines how many frames before file playback stops that the deck stop command is sent.

    you will need to adjust this for the delay between when the stop command is received by the deck and recording actually stops.

    record position on tape

    you can use this setting to adjust the recording position from the position where the tape is paused. for example, you may want to start recording from the frame after where you paused, instead of at the frame you paused at.

    steps

    determines the number of position to start recording with respect to the paused tape position when sync record is initiated.

    return to default

    returns all settings on this tab to their default values.
