apply audio or video filters to a portion of a clip? separate the portion you want to apply filters to from the rest of the clip by using the separate command.

    then apply the video/audio filters to only the separated portion.

    alternatively, you can keyframe the blend effects filter to control where the filter is applied.

    render a clip with video filters?

    please refer to the rex edit chapter in your user's manual for instructions on rendering.

    position a clip by its first frame?

    hold down the control key while dragging the clip. the clip will be positioned at the frame after the displayed frame.

    move a separation point?

    (on main av clips only) hold down the alt key and drag the separation. the out point of the first clip and the in point of the second clip will automatically be adjusted.

    start playback with the playback buffer pre-filled?

    hold down shift then press space to play your timeline instead of just pressing space.

    dissolve between insert av and main av?

    use luminance key or chroma key with fade in/out set, or use a full-size picture-in-picture with dissolve effect.

    change the size of a graphic used in the titler?

    use adobe photoshop, or a similar image editing application to resize the image.

    get more real-time performance?

    upgrade to faster cpus. cpu power is the determining factor in real-time performance. the faster your cpus, the more real-time capabilities you will have.
