Selections available from the SCSISelect menu
the following selections appear on the scsiselect utility menu:
1 configureniew host adapter settings
use this selection to view or change the scsi controller settings.to reset the scsi controller to its default values, press f6; then, follow the on-screen instructions.
you can view or change the following controller settings:
1 host adapter scsi id
use this selection to view the scsi controller identification (id), usually 7.
2 scsi parity checking
use this selection to view the assigned value of enabled.
3 host adapter scsi termination
use this selection to view the assigned value of automatic.
4 boot device options
use this selection to configure startable-device parameters. to make changes, you must know the id of the device you want to configure.
5 scsi device configuration
use this selection to configure scsi-device parameters. to make changes,you must know the id of the device you want to configure.
the maximum sync transfer rate represents the transfer rate for ultra scsi devices.
1 the transfer rate for ultra 160 iow voltage differential (lvd) devices is 160.0.
2 the transfer rate for ultra2 scsi lvd devices is 80.0.
3 the transfer rate for fast scsi devices is 20.0.
6 advanced configuration options
use this selection to view or change the settings such as enabling support for large hard disk drives and support for drives with ultra scsi speeds.
2 scsi disk utilities
select this choice to view the scsi ids that are assigned to each device or to format a scsi device.
to use the utility program, select a drive from the list. read the on-screen instructions carefully before making a selection.
if you press ctrl+a before the selected drives are ready, an unexpected scsi command failure screen might appear. restart the computer and watch the scsiselect messages as each drive starts. after the drive that you want to view or format starts, press ctrl+a.
