to remove the cover, you might find it easier to lay the computer on its side.

do the following to remove the side cover of the computer:
1.review the information in "installing adapters-before you begin" on page 30 and "safety information" on page vii.
2.turn off the computer and all attached devices.
3.disconnect all external cables and power cords.
4.unlock the computer cover, if necessary.
5.while pressing on the top blue button, pull out the cover-release latch and lock it into an upright position. this action will slide the cover toward the rear of the computer about 12.7 mm (0.5 in.). then, remove the cover from the computer.

for proper cooling and airflow, replace the cover before turning on the computer.
operating the computer with the cover removed might damage computer components.
