the test environment listed below is the minimum needed to perform the required tests.

    2.1 dut (device under test)

    (a) 2 each: loop-u model 3500/500 stand-alone

    2.2 tools needed

    (a) v.35 tester (use for example the fireberd6000 test set)

    (b) vt100 terminal (a pc running a vt100 terminal emulation is acceptable)

    2.3 tests

    (a) line port - this test verifies the internal operation and the line port driver electronics.

    (b) dte port - this test verifies the internal operation and the dte port driver electronics.
