figure 2-1 shows an example of a dtu installation. the dtu connects to local data devices through its device ports and to a remote 3600 mainstreet series node through the line connector. the use of intermediate components (such as punch-down blocks, building wiring and wall jacks) depends upon local practices.

   

    if any device (including cable or wiring) is connected between the dtu and a data device, it must conform to the following:

    1 it must not interfere with signal quality

    2 it must be approved for connection between the dtu and the data device using cable or wiring complying with approved local practices
