Configuration
dtus are configured using the nmti on a 3600 mainstreet series node, the craft interface, or a 4600 mainstreet series network manager (see the appropriate manuals for configuration instructions). configured parameters are downloaded to dtus over the d channel control link.
the dtu monitors the status of communication paths (see figures 2-11 and 2-13). leds on the dtu indicate communication path status (see figures 2-10 and 2-12).
the following c0nfigurable parameters affect monitoring:
1 rate adaption mode: hcm or transparent subrate multiplexing
2 data device type: dte or dce
