the 2608 mainstreet dtu has a relay connection between two of the pins on the line connector (see figure 2-8). the relay pins can be wired to an external device, such as a led or a bell, to indicate a hardware alarm. one of the following causes may activate the relay alarm.

    1 the dtu has lost power.

    2 the dtu has lost line synchronization.

    3 the data path endpoints and the aggregate path endpoints are not configured with matching parameters.
