some sound cards have an external audio breakout box (sometimes referred to as a "rack") to simplify connecting other devices. if you have an external audio breakout box, you connect the audio input and output on your rt.x10 breakout cable differently than explained in the previous section.

    to connect to an external audio breakout box:

    1 connect the light blue connector labeled to audio card in on your rt.x10 breakout cable to the line in jack (or corresponding jack) on the front panel of your audio breakout box.

    2 connect the light green connector labeled to audio card out on your rt.x10 breakout cable to the front jack (or corresponding jack) on the rear panel of your audio breakout box.

    if the audio input and output cables on your rt.x10 breakout cable aren't long enough to reach your audio breakout box, simply use extension cables. these can be purchased at any electronics store.
