with digital fusion, you can't have too much processing power, ram, hard disk space or screen real estate. an ideal compositing system includes dual pii processors, with at least 256 mb of ram, a 4 mb video card and at least two 18 gb drives. the higher the transfer rates the hard disk can sustain, the faster digital fusion will operate. loading and saving files over networks, though possible, is not encouraged. the data transfer rate is often slow, hindering performance.

    in most circumstances, the hardware requirements of digital fusion are greater than those of the hardware components of dpsreality. see your digital fusion manual for a complete list of system requirements.

    the bundled version of digital fusion must be installed in the same computer as your dpsreality card. it hardware locks to your dpsreality board, so it does not require a dongle.

    for more information on digital fusion installation, please see your digital fusion manual. you can ignore the instructions regarding the hardware lock (dongle). once software installation is complete, you must follow the registration procedure as outlined in the digital fusion 3.1 manual.

    you have a 30-day grace period in which to complete the registration process. note that the registration page on the eyeon website (www.eyeonline.com) is not intended for dps customers who have received digital fusion or dfx+ as part of a dps package.

    dpsvelocity launches digital fusion/dfx+ when a fusion effect is applied to a clip, transition or portion of a timeline. the first time you use this feature, dpsvelocity searches your system for the executable file dfxplus.exe. if you have more than one version of digital fusion installed on the computer, the wrong version of digital fusion may launch. to change the link to the correct version of digital fusion, launch dpsvelocity. select file ] preferences ] dpsvelocity ] render settings from the main menu.

    under the digital fusion.exe path field, click the browse button. a window opens. find the folder that contains the correct version of digital fusion and click on the file dfxplus.exe (or dfusion.exe in the case of a full digital fusion install) that is in that folder.
