PROJECTS

dpsvelocity organizes your source material into projects. project management organizes the data of your edits for two purposes: so the computer can store it efficiently, and so that you can put it together into sequences and output it.

the contents of a project are timelines, which are organized into versions, galleries, which organize all the other media in a project, and settings files.

organization is hierarchical. you import data - stills, video, audio, effects into a project. the media is stored in galleries, which are grouped into bins.

the same media may be used in multiple projects. when you put your media in order on a timeline, you create an edit, or sequence of clips.

a project can contain different versions. each version has at least one timeline. versions allow you to manipulate the project for different needs or markets - different sound tracks with language dubs, or different phone numbers and other titles listed depending on the market a program will be viewed in. the versioning process allows you to create these different programs without having to destroy the original or save and copy media as a separate project.

the computer keeps dps video files and renders in the p drive. it also stores the audio separately on a system drive but links it with the video as soon as you play back a synchronized clip. render bank technology keeps track of rendered clips even as you move them on the timeline. it remembers the flow you used to create an effect in dfx+ when you re-edit that effect.

project management settings allow you to save files for retrieval as a project. they allow you to back up your project and delete of unwanted or unneeded files during later stages of your project.
