to your breakout box or breakout cable, attach your video source to the proper video input. standard video input options are component, s-video and composite, in descending order of quality. you should always use the highest-quality video input you have available.

    optionally, you may have the digital i/o board which allows you to capture digital d1 video, and you may also have the optional dv daughtercard.

    if you have any dv card or input on your computer, you can also use it to capture video.
