the dpsreality hardware has two unbalanced (rca) audio inputs labeled l in and r in and two balanced (xlr) audio inputs labeled l in and r in.

    you may hook up the audio output from your vtr, a camera, a cd player, or any other audio device. the dpsreality card also has an input for your computer's cd-rom drive.

    if you purchased the digital i/o hardware option, it provides you with aes/ebu audio input (balanced and unbalanced) as well as s/p dif (unbalanced) via a 15-pin digital connector. depending on which dv options you purchased you may also have d1 audio input and firewire (ieee-1394) audio input. if you are using dv audio, it travels through the same cable as the video. if your dv source (camera or vtr) has audio outputs, you can capture the audio through those as well.
