    this manual covers the installation, operation and user maintenance of the action imaging solutions 5480e, 4860e, 4280e, 4260e, 3680e,and 3640e range of fine colortrac scanners.

   

    each installed scanner requires a "personal computer" running a supported operating system. it is wise to make sure that the personal computer is working correctly before installing any of our applications or this could hamper support efforts. please also note that the use of the firewire port of the scanner will require you use microsoft windows 2000? or windows xp operating systems.

   

    we currently have limited support for the macintosh computers running under os x 1.2.

   

    action imaging solutions' scanners normally ship with application software, therefore making the scanner productive right out of the box. the user guides for this application software can be found on the installation cd in adobe acrobat format (portable document format or pdf for short). the normal application software supplied with the scanners is called scanworks for scan-to-file applications, and copyworks for scan-to-print applications.

   

    we recommend that an action imaging solutions approved technician install the scanner. if, upon the other hand, you decide to undertake the installation of the scanner yourself, the installation section of this manual will provide guidance.

   

    please note that if you have any problems in carrying out the installation, you should contact your supplier.
