do not remove any of the cover panels without disconnecting the power and waiting for the recommended time.
general safety warnings
finger trap

there is a danger of trapping fingers between the lid and the ends of the scanner. ensure that hands are clear of the ends of the scanner when closing or adjusting the lid, and special attention is needed when removing or reinstalling the paper transport assembly.
weight warning
the scanner weigh in at 200 lbs for the 5480e and the 4860e, and 132lbs for the 4280e, 4260e, 3680e and the 3640e. it requires two people to lift them. no attempt should be made to lift the scanner by yourself. suitable clothing should be worn when unpacking or moving the scanner.
tilt warning
if weight is applied to the paper feed tray, the scanner may tilt. do not stand or climb on the scanner.
environmental warning
this equipment is not intended for operation while exposed to extreme temperatures, excessive dust, moisture, vibration, flammable gases, corrosive or explosive atmospheres or any ingress of water.
rotating paper rollers
there are two paper drive rollers beneath the lid. if the lid is open, please ensure that hair, ties or other personal belongings do not become entangled in the rollers.
emc class a
this is a class a product. in a domestic environment this product may cause radio interference; in such cases the user may be required to take adequate measures. the "domestic environment" is an environment where the use of broadcast radio and television receivers may be expected to be within a distance of 30 feet or 10 meters of the apparatus.
