the action imaging solutions series 4 scanners are designed to scan "thick" or mounted display panels or other ridged documents up to 12 mm or 0.47" thick.

   

    even though the scanners are designed to handle "thick" media, caution and common sense should be used when loading the scanner as the scanner will not handle a 12 mm thick sheet of steel.

   

    beware of originals with sharp edges as these may cause damage to the scanner particularly to the underside of the lid and to the white hold-down in the lid assembly. excessively bent or damaged originals may also cause problems.

   

    when scanning very thin media the use of aperture scanning tape is recommended. this tape can be purchased through our consumables section of this web site.

   

    warning: carefully check the scanning process with a valueless sample of identical media to ensure that the scanner will not cause damage to the original.
