the scanner may require to be color calibrated. this ensures that the scanner produces correct and consistent colors across the width of the scan.

   

    this color calibration can be carried out automatically by inserting the calibration target into the scanner and selecting the option on the host software to carry out "white-balance". this white calibration target fits over the scanner aperture and may move depending on your firmware version. please note that all of the latest firmware does move the target. for firmware updates please follow this link. firmware updates.

   

    depending on the type of target issued, the target may be found inside the lid of the scanner.

   

    in order to achieve the best color response from the scanner, it should be left on continuously.
