you must have already registered the officeconnect internet firewall before activating the web site filter. see chapter 3 for registration details.

    when you register the product you will be given 30 days free subscription to the web site filter. to continue getting upgrades to the web site filter (covering new web sites as they appear) you will need to purchase the annual web site filter subscription.

    to activate your annual subscription perform the following steps:

    1 using a web browser, go to the web site filter registration page http://www.3com.com/internetfirewall/

    2 click the activate web site filter link.

    3 in the box labeled serial number, type the internet firewall’s serial number

    4 in the activation key box, type the key supplied with the web site filter.

    5 click activate.

    after a short while, a message confirming the subscription's activation is displayed in the web browser window.

    the internet firewall’s serial number is printed on the bottom of the firewall and is also displayed at the top of the status window in the web management interface.

    each subscription activation key allows the internet firewall to receive 52 weekly updates of the web site filter.

    the web site filter must now be downloaded and the dates/time of the automatic updates set.
