Reliability, availability, and serviceability features
three important computer design features are reliability, availability, and serviceability (ras). the ras features help to ensure the integrity of the data that is stored on your computer, the availability of the computer when you need it, and the ease with which you can diagnose and repair problems.
the following is an abbreviated list of the ras features that your computer supports. many of these features are explained in later chapters of this publication.
24 hours a day, 7 days a week customer support
3-year limited warranty
advanced configuration and power interface (acpi)
advanced desktop management interface (dmi) features
alert standard format (asf) support providing seven standard alerts for components such as fans, voltage, and thermals
automatic bios recovery to backup image
automatic computer restart after power failure, based on bios setting
automatic error retry or recovery
automatic memory downsizing on error detection
automatic restart on non-maskable interrupt (nmi)
boot-block recovery
built-in, menu-driven configuration and setup programs
built-in, menu-driven scsi configuration programs (some models)
cd-based diagnostic programs
