if you receive a scsi error message when running the scsiselect utility program, one or more of the following might be causing the problem:

    1 a failing scsi device (adapter or drive)

    2 an improper scsi configuration

    3 duplicate scsi ids in the same scsi chain

    4 an improperly installed scsi terminator

    5 a defective scsi terminator

    6 an improperly installed cable

    7 a defective cable

    to solve the problem, verify that:

    1 the external scsi devices are turned on. external scsi devices must be turned on before the computer.

    2 the cables for all external scsi devices are connected correctly.

    3 the last device in each scsi chain is terminated properly.

    4 the scsi devices are configured correctly.

    if you have verified these items and the problem persists, run the diagnostic programs to obtain additional information about the failing device. if the error remains or recurs, call for service.

    if your system does not have a scsi hard disk drive, ignore any message that indicates that the bios code is not installed.
