    updating with the intel cd

    you can update drivers using the autorun program on the intel cd.

    1 insert the intel cd in the cd-rom drive. the cd autorun program starts.

    2 click install base driver. a message asking you to continue with the update displays.

    3 click ok. when prompted, restart the computer.

    1 double-click the network icon in the control panel.

    2 click the adapters tab.

    3 select the adapter from the adapter list and click update.

    4 type the drive letter for the intel cd or specify the download directory and click ok.

    if you are installing a driver in a computer with existing intel adapters, be sure to update all the adapters and ports with the same new software. this procedure ensures that all adapters function correctly.

    updating drivers over a network

    to install or update drivers from a remote computer:

    1 select a networked computer that has a cd-rom drive.

    2 insert the intel cd in the cd-rom drive. if the cd autorun screen displays, ignore it.

    3 specify the cd-rom drive as a shared device. refer to your os documentation for the specific steps.

    4 at a computer that requires updated drivers, select start -] run.

    5 in the run dialog, type:

    \\computer\share\windows\setup\comps\setupbd.exe [enter]

    where:

    computer is the name or ip address of the computer that has the intel cd loaded (see step 1).

    share is the name of the share you defined for the cd-rom drive (see step 2).
