if windows nt reports an error or you cannot connect to the network, try the suggestions here first. for further troubleshooting tips, click troubleshooting in the table of contents.

    1 make sure that you use the drivers for this adapter. drivers are located on the intel cd and on the web at http://support.intel.com.

    2 in your computer's bios settings, make sure "plug and play os?" is set to no.

    3 make sure the drivers are loaded and the protocols are bound. check the settings in the control panel's network/bindings dialog box.

    4 check the windows nt event viewer for error messages.

    5 test the adapter with the intel proset configuration utility that was installed on your system when you installed the adapter. to start intel proset, double-click the intel proset icon in the windows control panel. to run diagnostics, select the adapter and click the diagnostics tab, then click run tests. for additional information, click help in the intel proset window.
