the printer functions only in combination with an installed interface module,the illustration below shows the standard pm with a serial and parallel interface.

1 to avoid damage due to electrostatic discharge, do not touch the pins or components of the pm.
2 never attempt to install or remove a pm while the printer is switched on.
1. remove the pm (16) from its packing material.
2. insert the personality module (16) with the component side upwards until the connector fully engages. hand tighten the two lock screws (17).
