2 connect the interface cable coming from the computer to the printer's parallel (27) or serial port (28).
3 the printer is by default set to shared interface mode with the following parameters:
1 8 kbyte buffer
2 8 bit
3 even parity
4 9600 baud
5 dtr protocol
shared means that, after power-on, both the serial and the parallel interface are available for data transfer. the port to which data is sent becomes active utomatically. if the parallel or serial parameters need to be changed, see appendix a, interface description..
