the video&camera screen (system info ] admin setup ] video/camera) shown in figure 2-58 is used to configure the viewstation video and camera properties. these properties are:
display graphics in a call:
1 checked: graphics including mute, site name, and number appear on the screen during a call.
2 not checked: graphics are not displayed on the screen during a video call. this is used to provide a clean image without graphics.
snapshot timeout:
1 checked: by default, all slides and snapshots are displayed for a period of four minutes. after four minutes, the viewstation automatically returns to live video.
2 not checked: the snapshot or slide stays on screen until the near or far site user presses the snapshot button on the remote control to return to live video.
both sites must have disabled snapshot timeout for this feature to work. if one side has not disabled snapshot timeout, the viewstation uses the default settings.

number of monitors: select the number of monitors connected to the viewstation.
1 auto: the viewstation automatically uses any additional monitors connected to the viewstation.
2 1: the viewstation uses monitor number 1.
3 2: the viewstation uses monitor number 2.
snapshot camera: select the camera used for snapshots.
1 1: the viewstation uses camera number 1 for snapshots.
2 2: the viewstation uses camera number 2 for snapshots.
3 3: the viewstation uses camera number 3 for snapshots.
pip: picture in picture. the pip window appears in the lower right-hand corner when making calls.
1 auto: the pip window is displayed when a call is made and when the remote control is not resting on a flat surface.
2 on: the pip is displayed continuously.
3 off: the pip is not displayed.
far control of near camera: the far control of near camera allows a user on the far site to control the camera by pressing the far button on the remote control.
1 checked: the far site may control the camera on the near site.
2 not checked: the far site is unable to control the near camera.
backlight compensation: the backlight compensation is used in conference rooms with a light background.
1 checked: the camera automatically adjusts for a light background.
2 not checked: the camera does not adjust for a light background. uncheck the backlight compensation if moderate lighting is used for the viewstation.
camera direction: the camera direction is used to ease camera control for two modes of videoconferencing.
1 normal: normal camera direction is used when a speaker is behind the viewstation facing an audience. when the left arrow button is pressed on the remote control, the camera moves counterclockwise and when the right arrow button is pressed on the remote control, the camera moves clockwise.
2 reversed: the reversed camera direction is used for videoconferencing when the speaker is front of the viewstation.
primary camera: selects the primary camera used each time the viewstation is powered on. the main camera does not have to be the primary camera; the viewstation can use the camera 2 or 3 inputs as the primary camera.
1 1: camera 1 or the main camera (default)
2 2: camera 2 if connected to the viewstation
3 3: camera 3 if connected to the viewstation
amx and creston camera selection — if you are using amx or creston systems to control the viewstation via infrared signals, the camera selection method for the remote control has been changed to prevent ambiguous or accidental camera selection. a change to your room controller software is required.
