the viewstation is equipped with an embedded web server that allows the pc user to access viewstation features such as:
1 select a presentation
2 view a presentation
3 closed caption
4 start netmeeting
5 system information and management
these features are accessed on the viewstation web interface screen. to access these features, connect your pc to the viewstation over the lan or through a direct ethernet connection.
there are three ways to connect a pc to the viewstation. refer to the viewstation quickstart card for detailed information on connecting cables.
it is assumed that the viewstation is connected to the ethernet lan as shown in figure 4-1 (a and b).
figure 4-1 illustrates the three ways to connect a pc to a viewstation.
figure 4-1-a connects the pc to a blue rj-45 port on the viewstation. the viewstation is connected from orange rj-45 port to the ethernet lan.
figure 4-1-b illustrates the typical connectivity relationship between the viewstation and a pc which are both connected to an ethernet lan.
figure 4-1-c demonstrates a method for connecting a pc to the viewstation without lan support. this is referred to as connecting to a stand alone pc.
