ports can be combined into an aggregate link to increase the bandwidth of a network connection or ensure fault recovery. the smart switch supports up to 4 trunk groups. you can group ports into trunks that consist of from two to eight ports, creating anaggregate bandwidth of up to 1.6gbps when grouping eight ports.
it provides two manners to select the port members for trunk group as shown figure 9.
when using a port trunk, please note that:
1 ports can only be assigned to one trunk.
(for example, port 1 can't join to trunk 1 and trunk 2 simultaneously.)
2 the ports at the same trunk must be configured in identical speed, duplex mode, and vlan assignments.
3 please make sure that the switch is idle (no traffic), and then connect/disconnect the trunk port cables before enable/disable the port trunking configuration to avoid creating a loop.
4 port priority (qos) configuration should be disabled when you enable port trunking function.
5 the ports can't be set as mirroring port and joined to trunk groups simultaneously. it will cause a loop.
