this chapter describes installation and setup procedures for the standalone fcd-2 unit. for instructions on installation of a single unit in a 19" rack, refer to appendix b.

    fcd-2 is delivered completely assembled. it is designed for tabletop or 19" rack installation.

    after installing the unit:

    1 refer to chapter 3 for detailed system configuration information and procedures using the front panel controls.

    2 refer to chapter 4 for operating instructions and system configuration procedures using an ascii terminal connected to the fcd-2 control port.

    in case a problem encountered, refer to chapter 5 for test and diagnostics instructions.

    internal settings, adjustment, maintenance, and repairs may be performed only by a skilled technician who is aware of the hazards involved.
