hold the fi lm lightly between thumb and forefi nger with the refl ective base up and the matte emulsion surface down. the fi lm will be fed into the adapter automatically when inserted a short distance.
film can not be scanned in the sa-21 if:
1?it is less than two or more than six frames long
2?it has excessive curl
3?perforations are torn or missing
4?tape is applied to either end
5?the ends are cut on an angle or torn
6?the ends are folded
7?the end perforations cut or torn
8?there are holes between perforations
the ma-21 can be used to scan slides with mounts 1.0?.2 mm thick and 49?0.8 mm wide. other slides can not be scanned.
when film is examined under bright light, the image on the emulsion surface will be in slight relief, with bumps and hollows where the image has been developed. the opposite surface (the fi lm base) will be refl ective and smooth. insert fi lm base up.
