    if you plan to install the operating system now, see the installation instructions provided with your operating system.

    installation of the operating system can be handled in one of the following ways:

    1 preinstalled at the manufacturing facility.

    2 installed from a cd (if a cd-rom drive is installed). on the pseries 615 model 6c3 and model 6e3, the cd-rom drive is a customer-installable option.

    3 if you are installing the aix operating system, aix can be installed from a network installation management (nim) server. for information about installing aix from a nim server, see the aix 5l installation guide and reference, order number sc23-4389. for other software installation, refer to the documentation provided with the software.
